Roundabout Roulette
Tackling a roundabout in Spain is no mean feat. In fact it is a horrible experience the first couple of times you attempt it.
I had driven in Germany for many years so was used to driving on the other side of the road but nothing could of prepared me for my first Spanish ro undabout in Fuengirola. It was morning rush hour as I pulled up at the junction and there I proceeded to sit for almost 5 minutes. Too scared to move. Instead of the 2 lanes that should of been there it was 3 lanes (if you could call them lanes, it more like a free for all).
Eventually my fear subsided - my head was also hurting from all the beeping as drivers behind became increasingly frustrated with my lack of movement. I decided that there was no choice but to 'go for it'! No one seems to know the art of moving across the lane as they go round, when they want off they just cut across the lanes regardless of what is in the way. Anyway, I made it round safely and after that I knew no fear. In fact I have just realised I drive like a local now........apart from one thing! I still use my indicators!
